Hey, It’s Dave here, sorry to be such a stranger!   Kyle and I seemed to have come down with the tour plague .  I woke up in Thunder Bay with absolutely no voice.  Now I know what you’re thinking, the old Daver was up all night getting  corned with the boys in some back ally karoke joint, i wouldn’t blame you for thinking that.  The truth is a lot less interesting, just your average flu…. shit i hope it’s not swine flu… that wouldn’t be average at all… So we had to cancel the T Bay show, I’m sorry to the thousands of screaming fans left outside in the cold ; ) We will be back.  Anyway, Kyle and I have been able to limp through the Winnipeg and Saskatoon shows with the help of some VERY strong medication and determination.   Winnipeg; so good to see so many familiar faces.  Saskatoon, thank you for the crazy mosh pit.   I only puked once during the show in Sask, so I must be on the mend!  Alright, I’m gonna stop before I start sounding like a whiney bitch.  Thanks to everyone who’s come out wearing an IE shirt and helped sing along, it really is a great feeling to have that kind of support, we are lucky.   See you tomorrow in Calgary!

So we’ve made it from Halifax to Saskatoon and we’re still alive! Dave and Kyle have been caught some kind of mutant flu and are in rough shape. I noticed dave gracefully step side stage and vomit after the first two songs last night in Saskatoon. Don’t mess with a Flogging Molly fan.  Thats what I’l learned in Montreal the other night.  About midway through an extra crazy, sweaty set I stepped outside to a pizza place next door for a slice.  There was only me and a about four other guys sitting in the corner.   Everything was fine until an enraged Flogging fan burst in the door and charged the group sitting in the corner screaming “you can’t get away with that!”  Now these guys must have really pissed him off cause he lept over the table and took down two of the guys and started kicking the shit out of them!  The  guys had some friends outside that rushed in to help out.  Not 30 seconds later near by Flogging fans saw what was going on and rushed in and the pizza joint erupted into an all out brawl!  I’m talking old school Clint Eastwood bar fight!  I was stuck in the middle and made a half hearted attempt to cool things down but quickly realized I was gonna get my face smashed, these people were charged up.  I got the hell out of there just as 6 cops rushed in and started bashing knees and choking people with their clubs, it didn’t seem to take the fight out of anybody though.  After they got  things calmed down I retuned back to the concert poured myself a stiffy backstage just as Flogging Molly started playing one of my favourite songs, Float.  As the lyric goes, “drink, thats all you can!”
